Description:
This is the 28-hour course required by the state to apply for licensure as an armed security officer in the state of Florida. This course is taught in a three consecutive day format. The first day is 10 hours, the second day is 10 hours, and the third day is 8 hours. The date listed on the site is day one. Please register for this course on line.

Equipment Requirements:
Ammunition, firearm, holstering system, eye protection and ear protection will be provided for each student. The cost of the course includes ammunition for and rental of one 9 mm semi-auto pistol, Students who want to qualify with more than one type of firearm may do so at an additional cost ($50.00 extra total of $230.00). Students who want to use their own firearm, ammunition and equipment may do so. (Student provided firearms must be standard duty firearm and in serviceable condition. Due to range requirements ammunition may have to be purchase from the range used or be manufactured not reloads. FLSHE maintains the right to not allow any firearm or ammunition deemed to be questionable or unsafe.)

Recommended Clothing:
Professional casual clothing for the classroom portion i.e. Collared shirts, blue jeans or slacks, closed toe shoes. For the range blue jeans, appropriate t-shirt, closed toe shoes.

Lunch:
Students are responsible for their own meals and refreshments during the class.

Prerequisites:
None. Should have or are in the process of applying for a Class "D" or Class "CC" or Class "C" license.
